Getting Older=New Found Love....

of appliances...

Seriously.

Today I ordered a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. It's Green Apple colored. I got an awesome deal that included a free glass bowl and a free flex mixer attachment. So.Freakin.Excited.
I have shopped and shopped for this item. I've gone back and forth as far as ordering new or purchasing refurbished. I've scoured Craigslist and local classifieds. I've gazed longingly at them every time I've been in a store that carries them. I've contemplated all of the things I can make in them. I've pictured myself, in cutesy apron and pearls of course, with warm cookies to feed the kiddos as soon as they get off the bus. I've thought about all of the money I could save by making my own bread (okay so by the way, not so much money saved as much as it is knowing what's in the bread...). I've pictured all of the family meals with the proper table attire that will now be possible because of one simple mixer. This one simple mixer will instantaneously turn my family into a Norman Rockwell print.

It has solidified my adulthood. Never mind having kids, buying a house, or turning 30. I purchased my adulthood today. And it's a lime green color. :)

10 years ago, I would've been greatly offended if ANYONE purchased me an appliance for any reason. The women who were excited about getting vacuums, washers, dryers, bread machines, etc were just pathetic. Little did I know.

I've tried denial--I've attempted to not be as excited about appliance purchases. I've tried really hard. But the fact of the matter was I did a happy dance when the Lowe's guys showed up with the washer and dryer. And God bless them for not laughing at me. I sat around today stalking the Lowe's Facebook page because they were having give aways for items such as vacuums, mixers, etc. BRILLIANT! I'm trying to figure out a way to be able to keep my pretty frig when we move. No way will it fit in Army housing, but it's sooooo shiny and it's got a milk cooler area and filtered water/ice and and and....

Forget the diamonds, the love notes, the flowers--wanna show me love? Buy me attachments for my mixer....THEY HAVE ALL KINDS!!!! :)

Haha! Awesome! Welcome to adulthood! Can't wait to see pictures of all the cool things you make with your mixer. Oh.. and the fridge... you should totally take it. If it doesn't fit in army housing, put it in the garage so you have a spare fridge for those "I went nuts at Sam's Club again" days. One day you will have a house this cool fridge fits in again. In the meantime, a spare fridge in the garage is soooo useful!
